Musical Self Esteem
The kids love this movie! High School Musical is cute kids movie that is actually geared more toward the Junior High crowd, but it is a huge hit at my house. I really like it too because although it’s a little cheesy, there are some fun songs and great choreography! The message is a bonus too, teaching that you shouldn’t be afraid to try new things. There’s just enough romance in it to get the kids saying ewww!, but it’s innocent enough to be cute. There are also some basketball sequences to keep the boys interested if they’re not into singing and dancing… Anyway, I highly recommend it, but be careful, you’ll be singing the songs for the rest of the day!
Read MoreTemple Reunion
Last night we went to the temple and ran into one of the missionaries Rob knew in Italy. Eric is now an actor and does commercials (most recently an Old Navy ad) and hosts a PBS show called Dragonfly TV. He is also a member of Santa Clarita Improv. You may recognize some of the other actors in the group if you are familiar with the LDS pop-culture films, they are all LDS. He and Rob had a great time catching up on the last 10+ years, and I had fun listening and watching their eyes light up as they discussed shared memories. Small world!
Read MoreBizzert Bows
I have posted some examples of hair bows I have right now. For all who have an interest, send me an email or comment telling me what you like. They cost $6.00 for the first one and $4.00 for each additional bow (shipping included) and are made of chiffon ribbon. The bows come on either an alligator clip or elastic headband. They measure approximately 4″ wide and 2″ high. I can go smaller or bigger depending on your preference.
A Call for Free Advertising
I was talking with my mom recently, and she was telling me how she wants her business to come up higher on a search engine like google when someone searches for emergency supplies. If anyone out there is willing to put a link to Totally Ready on their site or blog, I would really appreciate it. Having a lot of places that link to the site is apparently one way to get a higher ranking. Thanks!!
Read MoreFive Browns
On Sunday our family went to a fireside that featured “The Five Browns.” They are an interesting family and all five children are classically trained pianists. Since they couldn’t fit five pianos in the church, they did two pianos instead. There were a few solos and duets and even one piece that all three girls played together on the same piano. I think it was a good thing for Hunter and Emma to see, although there were many “I’m tired, I’m hungry” type of comments. Hannah has also discovered the concept and word “mine.” Poor Emma was trying to be quiet and patient when Hannah kidnapped her Polly Pocket and wouldn’t give it back for the longest time. All of the Browns spoke including their parents and it was a nice message. They all talked about the importance of their faith and how it helped them as they studied music in New York. They were doing a concert nearby the next day, but we got a small one for free. Fun.
Read MoreIn Step Double Jogger
A lot of people have asked me where I got my jogger stroller, so here it is. My only complaints are that it can be hard to fold up and there is no cup holder. Other than that, it’s super easy to push, I love the swivel wheel feature and the big beefy tires are great for off-roading. I got mine at Baby Bungalow because they had free shipping.
